South Lake Primary School

South Lake Nursery

Our Nursery

We have a 39-place Nursery, with its own admissions procedure. We take children from just after their third birthday or the term after they are three.  Our Nursery is a lively, happy place where we support the children to learn through the Early Years Curriculum. We nurture our children in our well-resourced provision, adapting the curriculum to suit their needs and interests.  There is always a warm welcome in Nursery!

We offer working family entitlement places (previously 30 hours subject to availability and eligibility) as well as government-funded 15 hours provision.  We also offer additional payable sessions to top up 15 hour funded places.

15 hours provision is offered as three hours per day for five days a week in either a morning or afternoon block (all sessions will be all mornings or all afternoons).  You can express a preference as to the session you would like and we will of course accommodate where we can; however, specific sessions cannot be guaranteed.

Nursery times are:

Morning Sessions 8:30am – 11:30am. (15 hours)

Lunch Club 11:30am - 12:30pm as an additional payable session  @ £5.50, plus additional charge for hot school lunch.

Afternoon Sessions 12:30pm – 3:30pm (15 hours)

For eligible families (working family entitlement, previously 30 hours), our session times are 08:30am - 2:30pm  with an additional hour 2:30pm - 3:30pm chargeable at £5.50 per day.

We have a breakfast club, lunch club and after-school club available. These sessions are all charged for.

For a place for your child in Nursery, please ask in the school office for the application form or complete the form below and return it to us along with your child's birth certificate.

We apply our Nursery Admissions Policy when considering all applications. Please click on the link below to see our policy.

Entrance to Nursery has no impact on application to the main school; this is a separate admissions procedure administered by the Local Authority.
